Job summary

Leyad in Montreal is seeking a Property Accountant (Commercial) to support the financial management of its commercial property portfolio. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will oversee day-to-day accounting activities, assist with monthly financial statements, rent rolls, and CAM reconciliations, and work closely with Property Managers to ensure accurate records.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of property accounting experience, a degree in Accounting or Finance, proficiency in Excel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–4 years of property accounting experience, preferably commercial real estate.
• Experience with Yardi or similar property management/accounting software is an asset.
• Strong MS Excel skills.
• Understanding of commercial leases and operating cost recoveries is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform full-cycle accounting for an assigned portfolio of commercial properties.

Position Overview

The Property Accountant (Commercial) is responsible for supporting the financial management of Leyad's commercial property portfolio. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role oversees day-to-day accounting activities, assists with financial reporting, and works closely with Property Managers to ensure accurate financial records. Key Responsibilities

• Perform full-cycle accounting for an assigned portfolio of commercial properties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.


• 2-4 years of property accounting experience, preferably within commercial real estate.


• Experience with Yardi or another property management/accounting software is considered an asset.


• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.


• Understanding of commercial leases and operating cost recoveries is preferred.


• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
