Join to apply for the Property Accountant role at Oxford Properties Group.

We are seeking a Property Accountant to join Oxford’s North American Accounting team. The successful candidate will be part of an innovative team responsible for accounting and analysis for a portfolio of properties and other projects. This role requires strong analytical, critical thinking, communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a complex environment. Experience in the real estate industry is preferred.

Responsibilities include:

1. Transition a portfolio of assets previously managed externally to in-house management.
2. Manage all aspects of general ledger accounting, including month-end close, bank reconciliations, and tax remittances.
3. Prepare and interpret monthly financial reports to support business decisions.
4. Analyze cash flows, manage contributions/distributions across legal structures.
5. Prepare budgets and reforecasts.
6. Design tenant recovery models and review tenant leases and cost statements.
7. Collaborate with property and asset management teams on financial and tenant issues.
8. Develop asset management reporting packages for decision-making.
9. Prepare financial statements in compliance with local GAAP or IFRS across jurisdictions.
10. Coordinate audits and participate in process improvement projects.
11. Ensure compliance with company policies and controls.

Qualifications:

1. 3-4 years of experience in real estate accounting.
2. University degree; CPA or CPA candidacy preferred.
3. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with HFM and JDE is an asset.
5. Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
6. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
