Job summary

Zen Residential Ltd. is seeking a Property Accountant to support the financial operations of our growing portfolio. You'll manage day-to-day accounting for assigned residential properties and ensure timely processing of transactions.

This role emphasizes accuracy, reporting, and collaboration with Property Managers to resolve discrepancies. Proficiency in Yardi or similar systems and strong Excel skills are valued as we maintain robust financial records and budgets.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of accounting experience (property accounting preferred).
• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent).
• Experience with property management software (Yardi/Buildium) is an asset.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and financial reporting knowledge.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting for assigned residential properties.
• Process accounts payable and receivable accurately and on time.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger entries.
• Prepare financial statements and assist with budget preparation.
• Ensure accuracy of tenant ledgers, vendor payments, and owner reports.
• Collaborate with Property Managers to resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Maintain property data and financial records in Yardi or similar systems.
• Support audit preparation and compliance with internal controls and policies.
• Respond to financial inquiries from tenants, vendors, and internal teams.
• Contribute to ongoing process improvement and reporting efficiencies.
