Job summary

Options Consulting Solutions is seeking a Property Accountant to manage accounting for a portfolio of commercial and residential properties in Toronto, Ontario. Reporting to the Manager of Property Accounting, you will gather operating data, run variance analyses, and prepare monthly and year-end statements, working papers, and leasing invoices.

The ideal candidate holds a university degree or college diploma in accounting/finance, has at least five years of property accounting experience, and

Qualifications

• A university degree or college diploma in accounting and/or finance.
• At least five years of experience in property accounting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency with Yardi Voyager is a MUST.
• Strong time management, organization, relationship-building, and communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle accounting functions for commercial and residential properties.
• Gather, review, and conduct variance analysis for monthly operating data.
• Prepare monthly reports, year-end statements, and working paper files.
• Compile quarterly reporting packages for externally owned properties.
• Support development of budgets and tenant revenue schedules.
• Provide rental advice notices for tenants regarding fiscal year changes.
• Review and approve new or renewal lease charges and prepare leasing fee invoices.
• Reconcile tenant statements as well as year-end CAM and realty tax charges.
• Assist in preparing monthly HST returns.
• Prepare and monitor tax billings, bank reconciliations, and rent rolls.
• Support audits and accounts payable functions.
• Handle other tasks and projects as assigned.

The Job!
