Job summary

Zen Residential Ltd. is seeking a Property Accountant to support the financial operations of our growing portfolio.

You will maintain accurate financial records, process transactions, and prepare timely reports to support property performance and compliance. As part of our team, you’ll collaborate with Property Managers, ensure accurate tenant ledgers, and contribute to audits and process improvements while leveraging Yardi or similar systems.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of accounting experience, property accounting preferred.
• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent).
• Experience with property management software (Yardi, Buildium) is a plus.
• Proficient in Excel and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting for assigned residential properties.
• Process accounts payable and receivable accurately and on time.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger entries.
• Prepare financial statements and assist with budget preparation.
• Ensure accuracy of tenant ledgers, vendor payments, and owner reports.
• Collaborate with Property Managers to resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Maintain property data and financial records in Yardi or similar systems.
• Support audit preparation and compliance with internal controls and policies.
• Respond to financial inquiries from tenants, vendors, and internal teams.
• Contribute to ongoing process improvement and reporting efficiencies.

What You Bring

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and financial reporting knowledge
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
