Job summary

AtkinsRéalis, a world-class engineering services and nuclear organization, seeks a Technical Manager to lead the EMT on the CANDU MONARK Project in Canada. You will coordinate module programs, interface with stakeholders, and report to the Technical Director, Civil Engineering.

You will drive civil and structural design from basic engineering to detailed design, manage a multidisciplinary team, and ensure compliance with quality, cost, schedule, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineer in Ontario or eligible within 6 months.
• 5+ years on refurbishment or new build EPC projects.
• 2+ years people leadership in multidisciplinary teams.
• Regulatory interface experience with CNSC and compliance documentation.

Overview

The Technical Manager is a member of the Engineering Management Team (EMT) on the CANDU MONARK Project, responsible for coordinating the implementation of the module program within engineering, inclusive of interfacing with all stakeholders. The Technical Manager will report functionally to the Technical Director, Civil Engineering.

Your role

• Lead the civil and structural design process from basic engineering to detailed design.
• Manage and develop a team of civil and structural engineering and 3D modeling and drafting professionals.
• Plan and execute work to meet quality, cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
• Coordinate and oversee civil and structural engineering activities for nuclear power plant design.
• Ensure compliance with engineering, quality assurance, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
• Support proposal development, resource forecasting, and risk mitigation to maintain safety, quality, and delivery.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University, with at least 10 years of engineering experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, or eligible within six (6) months of hire.
• 5+ years of engineering experience on refurbishment and/or new build projects, including large‑scale EPC environments.
• 2+ years of people leadership experience, demonstrating strong directional leadership in dynamic, multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven regulatory interface experience with CNSC, including registrations, code classifications, and compliance documentation.
• Strong civil and structural engineering expertise with working knowledge of nuclear, CSA (general and N-series), and NBCC codes and standards.
• Proven track record of performance in a multidiscipline, dynamic, project delivery environment.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Willing to travel to and potentially work at sites to meet business needs, inclusive of project (construction) site, pre-assembly/module fabrication yards, and equipment/component suppliers. (Note: the initial site location is at the Mississauga head office or the Pickering Parkway Office in Ontario).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Security Clearance with Public Services and Procurement Canada is a condition of employment.
