Reporting to the Site Superintendent, this role requires strong leadership, planning, and communication skills to manage multidisciplinary teams and ensure the successful delivery of complex field operations.

This is a hands-on supervisory role that balances project execution, team coordination, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. The ideal candidate brings strong decision-making abilities, field leadership experience, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate field execution teams, ensuring safe work practices, adherence to project plans, and efficient use of resources
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact for project execution activities, including communication with planners, project managers, engineers, and technical SMEs
  • Translate working schedules and scopes into prioritized daily work activities for crews
  • Monitor and update field progress reports (Daily Field Reports), and escalate issues impacting scope, schedule, or safety
  • Lead pre-job briefings, post-job reviews, and ensure completion of safety documentation including Job Safety Analyses (JSA), Work Permits (WPs), and Order to Operate (OTO) documents
  • Enforce and champion safety culture; identify and mitigate risks, and promptly report incidents or near misses
  • Provide coaching and performance feedback to crew members; promote positive morale and teamwork across disciplines
  • Manage timekeeping, task tracking, and contractor invoicing support
  • Participate in project planning, walkdowns, scope reviews, and change management activities
  • Maintain site in a safe and tidy condition, and ensure work areas are properly documented upon completion
  • Engage in strategy development for resolving unforeseen field issues (e.g., contamination, equipment access, schedule delays)
  • Support training and mentoring of new employees and help develop site-wide best practices
  • Provide monthly performance reports and progress updates to the Site Superintendent

Requirements

  • 2-year technical diploma, university degree, or Journeyperson certification
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant field experience, with 5+ years in a leadership or supervisory capacity
  • Experience in construction, demolition, building maintenance, and preferably radiological or high-security environments
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities; able to guide multidisciplinary crews (trades, decontamination workers, equipment operators, etc.)
  • Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings, preparing work packages, and implementing detailed work plans
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to liaise with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with report writing, scheduling, and cost / resource estimation
  • Comfortable working in physically demanding and regulated environments (including wearing protective equipment and meeting Nuclear Energy Worker qualifications)
  • On-call availability and willingness to work outdoors and in confined spaces when required
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and the ability to lead under pressure
