PTW Energy Services seeks a Small Projects Supervisor to manage daily electrical activities on project sites, coordinating electricians, ensuring safety, quality, and timely completion. The role requires interpreting drawings, testing equipment, and supervising installations across industrial scopes.

Successful candidates will have a Journeyman Electrician license (Red Seal preferred) and at least 5 years of field leadership experience in construction or industrial settings.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise testing of electrical equipment for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
  • Oversee installation, inspection, and repairs of motors, drives, switchgear, transformers, and related controls.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance and document maintenance records.

Small Projects Supervisor - Wabasca

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Primarily responsible for managing the daily electrical activities on the project job site by coordinating the efforts of the electricians, maintaining the progress of the electrical portion of the project, site safety, and quality control.
  • Recommends and implements time saving measures in scheduling work and methods for accomplishing outcomes more efficiently.
  • Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
  • Supervises the testing of electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
  • Supervises the installation, examination, replacement or repairs of AC/DC Motors and Drives, PLC's, 480V power, 120V control circuits, 4160 volt switchgear, transformers, motors, starters, relays and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical controls.
  • Supervises the installation, examination, replacement or repairs of electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
  • Supervises the installation, examination, replacement or repairs generators, alternators and industrial storage batteries.
  • Oversees the preventive maintenance inspections and testing of various electrical systems (including power distribution equipment).
  • Oversees the sizing and installation of electrical circuits including panels, wire size and type, conduit, protective devices, switches, and related equipment needed to comply with the CEC and/or NEC.
  • Oversees the repairs of electrical failures and replacement of parts where production time is frequently affected.
  • Oversees the correction of wiring and connections on machinery controls where incorrect applications could cause damage and hazardous conditions.
  • Oversees the fabrication, installation and/or running of conduit, 3-Phase work, motor terminations, control and instrument troubleshooting and panel work.
  • Supervises work done on systems operating at 240 Volts, 480 Volts wye, 480 Volts delta, 4160 volt switchgear, transformers and motors by following electrical drawings and using test instruments such as a voltmeters, ammeters and PC's.
  • Supervises and implements preventive maintenance programs and maintains maintenance records.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
  • Journeyman Electrician. Preference given to those with Red Seal Electrician status.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience managing projects and leading a crew.
  • Experience working in a construction or industrial environment.
  • Have strong knowledge of typical facility and manufacturing support systems including steam, hot water, compressed air, and refrigeration systems.
  • Must be able to understand a project request from upper management, lay it out, determine and order materials needed and be responsible for successful completion and start-up.
