Job summary

Ledcor is seeking a seasoned Electrical Superintendent to lead our Industrial division on major Western Canada projects. You will oversee safe, efficient, and high-quality electrical execution from planning through turnover, while driving field excellence.

Responsibilities include coordinating crews of 50+ electricians, managing safety, schedules, budgets and client relationships, and mentoring site teams to meet aggressive milestones.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–8 years of construction supervision on industrial or large projects.
  • Journeyperson Electrician certification, post-secondary diploma, or engineering degree.
  • Experience as General Foreperson or Superintendent in leadership roles.
  • Experience supervising 50+ electricians on large teams.
  • Proven safety culture and collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Experience delivering industrial projects valued at $50M+.

  • Coordinate manpower, materials, subcontractors, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Hire, manage, and support hourly employees with PMs and Construction teams.
  • Supervise, train, mentor project team members and ensure safety.
  • Communicate with staff, trades, clients to meet safety, productivity, quality goals.
  • Review contracts, identify risks, support cost targets and profitability.
  • Develop 30/60/90-day look-ahead schedules and maintain milestones.

We’re looking for a seasoned and forward thinking Electrical Superintendent to help lead our growing Industrial division as we take on a series of major projects across Western Canada. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee the safe, efficient, and high quality execution of all piping activities while driving field excellence from planning through turnover.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Ensure site safety measures meet or exceed requirements outlined in corporate safety policies and applicable legislation
  • Lead and oversee all electrical construction activities including equipment installation, cable tray installation, cable pulling, terminations, grounding, lighting, testing, and turnover
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, subcontractors, schedules, quality standards, and commissioning activities to support project execution
  • Hire, manage, and support hourly employees in collaboration with Construction and Project Managers
  • Supervise, train, coach, and mentor project team members, including direct and indirect reports
  • Communicate effectively with staff, trades, subcontractors, and clients to achieve safety, productivity, quality, and performance objectives
  • Ensure projects are completed according to approved plans, specifications, building codes, and established quality standards
  • Review project contracts and subcontracts, identify risks and opportunities, and support financial targets, forecasts, and profitability goals
  • Develop, maintain, and update resource-loaded 30, 60, and 90-day look-ahead schedules while ensuring key milestones and completion dates are achieved
  • Lead safety, scheduling, productivity, system turnover, and stakeholder meetings while maintaining project documentation and strong customer relationships
Qualifications
  • 3 to 8 years of construction supervision experience on industrial or large-scale construction projects
  • Journeyperson Electrician certification, post‑secondary diploma, or engineering degree
  • Previous experience as a General Foreperson, Superintendent, or in a similar leadership role
  • Has experience supervising Electrical General Forepersons, Electrical Forepersons and running at least crews of 50+ electricians
  • Proven track record of maintaining a strong safety culture and working effectively with diverse teams
  • Experience delivering major industrial construction projects valued at $50M or greater
  • Strong knowledge of industrial construction methodologies, practices, and advanced workface planning principles
  • Ability to interpret industrial construction documents and ensure contractual requirements, expectations, and stakeholder interests are clearly defined and protected
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction trades with specialized expertise in electrical construction and installation activities
  • Extensive experience planning and executing electrical scopes including temporary power, cable tray installation, cable pulling programs, electrical equipment installation, terminations, testing, and system turnover
  • Manage LOTO programs, oversee budgets and schedules, coordinate multiple project scopes, develop stakeholder relationships
Work Conditions
  • Travel with full time project location to be determined in Western Canada Project specific
  • Site based role, rotational shift will be assigned
  • Ability to work evenings, holidays, weekends, and travel away from home will be required
