About The Role
The Senior Risk Management and Audit Specialist will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks, while implementing governance structures that enhance decision-making, compliance, and operational efficiency. This role involves working closely with key stakeholders to establish risk controls, monitor project performance, and drive continuous improvements in governance processes.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in risk assessment methodologies, regulatory compliance, and governance best practices, with the ability to analyze complex project structures and implement proactive solutions. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential to support the Project Management (PM) Manager in driving risk-aware decision-making and robust project governance.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of risk management and project governance frameworks across all project areas.
- Monitor and assess project risks, compliance requirements, and governance processes to identify vulnerabilities and drive improvements.
- Oversee the establishment and maintenance of a structured risk management database, ensuring key risks, mitigation strategies, and governance insights are effectively documented and applied.
- Develop documentation protocols for tracking risks, compliance measures, and governance effectiveness, integrating findings into project phases.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to implement governance best practices, strengthen risk controls, and improve decision-making.
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate financial, operational, and legal risks, ensuring proactive strategies are in place.
- Oversee the implementation of project governance policies, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
- Monitor risk exposure, governance compliance, and project performance, enforcing corrective actions aligned with business objectives.
- Lead risk assessments and scenario planning, developing contingency strategies.
- Evaluate governance effectiveness and drive continuous improvements.
- Develop standardized templates, tools, and frameworks for risk management and governance.
- Prepare and deliver reports on risks, governance challenges, and compliance status.
- Update PM Manager, Project Lead, and executive team on governance milestones and risks.
- Promote a culture of proactive risk management and strong governance through collaboration and transparency.
- Coordinate stakeholder efforts to achieve common goals and report misalignments.
- Perform additional leadership duties to support the success and growth of the team.
What You Bring To The Team
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, or related fields.
- 7+ years of experience managing projects in complex environments with a focus on risk, governance, and compliance.
- Deep knowledge of risk management principles, governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
- Understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks relevant to project risk and governance, especially in construction or related industries.
- Proven ability to assess and mitigate financial, operational, and legal risks.
- Expertise in developing policies, procedures, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration.
- Strong strategic, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in risk management and project management software, including advanced Excel skills.
- Professionalism, responsiveness, and a results-oriented approach.
- Ability to work independently and in teams, especially under pressure.
- Adaptability in intercultural settings with strong empathy.
- Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Willingness to travel (~10%) domestically and internationally, and to accommodate time zone differences.
- Experience in automotive, e-mobility, or construction industries is an asset; German language skills are a plus.
