Axyom.Core’s finance team has an immediate Canada based, telecommuting full-time position for a Senior Accounting Manager. We seek to add a talented individual to our growing team of accounting professionals. The Senior Accounting Manager will work collaboratively with the North American based finance team and report to the Financial Controller. The right person for the role is a detail-oriented and highly organized accounting professional with a strong foundation in general accounting principles, proficiency with revenue recognition under IFRS 15 and general accounting activities. The ideal candidate enjoys the complexity and fast paced nature of working within a global company and demonstrates a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Primary Responsibilities
1.Revenue Recognition (IFRS 15)
Apply strong working knowledge of IFRS 15 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers) to ensure proper revenue recognition practices. Analyze documents for performance obligations, perform fair value allocations, evaluate standalone selling price (SSP), determine appropriate recognition timing and amounts, and support month-end revenue reporting and compliance with audit requirements.
Perform comprehensive account reconciliations on a monthly basis across various general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data. Investigate and resolve discrepancies proactively, maintain detailed supporting documentation, and assist in preparing journal entries where required.
3.Fixed Assets
Maintain and update the fixed asset system, including capitalization of assets, tracking asset movements, performing periodic asset audits, and managing depreciation. Ensure that all fixed asset transactions are properly recorded and comply with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
4.Accounts Payable
Responsible for the end-to-end processing of vendor invoices, including matching purchase orders, verifying proper approvals, coding expenses, and ensuring timely and accurate payment processing. This includes handling inquiries from suppliers, resolving discrepancies, reconciling intercompany balances and maintaining compliance with company policies and internal controls.
5.General Accounting
Support the accurate recording of financial transactions in accordance with accounting principles and internal policies. Responsibilities include preparing journal entries, assisting in monthly and year-end closings, maintaining accruals, and participating in internal and external audits as needed.
6.Cash Disbursements
Oversee all aspects of cash disbursements, including preparation and execution of electronic payments (ACH, wire transfers), check runs. Ensure proper documentation, approvals are aligned with cash management procedures to optimize liquidity and control risk.
Qualifications:
·Bachelor’s degree in accounting desired
·7-10 years accounting or financial analysis experienceto include strong financial statement preparation, analysis, and budget development experience is required
·CPA or MBA a plus
·An individual with a record of anticipating needs and taking initiative and working independently
·Strong Microsoft Office skills, with advanced Excel skills
·Knowledge of NetSuite Accounting System a plus
·Professional and effective verbal and interpersonal communications skills
Salary range: $80,000 - $110,000 CAD
