Job summary

Community Living British Columbia (CLBC) is seeking a Project Implementation & Adoption Lead to coordinate adoption activities and ensure successful delivery of projects within the Project Portfolio Management Office.

The role combines change management expertise with practical project management to drive smooth transitions, engage diverse stakeholders, and realize project benefits in a hybrid Vancouver setting.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, project management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' direct experience in project implementation, adoption support, organizational transitions, or related project delivery roles.
  • Direct experience in Change Management implementation, communication, or engagement activities involving internal and external interest holders.
  • Project Management or Change Management designation is an asset.
  • Experience in a public sector organization is an asset.
  • Training or certification in facilitation, project management, communication, or organizational development is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the planning and execution of implementation and adoption activities to support successful project delivery and organizational readiness.
  • Conducts impact assessments to identify affected groups and readiness needs.
  • Develops adoption roadmaps, communication plans, and transition strategies.
  • Builds relationships with sponsors, leaders, and stakeholders to support engagement.
  • Delivers clear, practical messaging about changes to internal teams and external partners.
  • Integrates adoption activities into overall project plans and timelines.
  • Documents project risk and issue tracking and defines mitigation strategies.
  • Develops project documentation including charters, plans, updates, and dashboards.
  • Supports alignment of adoption practices across the portfolio with the PPMO.
  • Develops and refines tools, templates, and processes related to implementation and adoption.
  • Tracks lessons learned to improve change and implementation practices.

About the Role

Reporting to Manager, Project Portfolio Management, this role is responsible for leading the implementation and adoption activities that support successful delivery of projects within the Project Portfolio Management Office (PPMO).

The Project Implementation & Adoption Lead plays a key role in ensuring that new initiatives, processes, and technologies are effectively integrated into the organization and the sector and embraced by impacted teams (internal and external interest holders). This role combines strong change management expertise with practical project management experience to support smooth transitions and maximize the realization of project benefits.

Key responsibilities
  • Leads the planning and execution of implementation and adoption activities to support successful project delivery and organizational and sector readiness and sustained adoption by internal and eternal interest holders.
  • Conducts impact assessments to identify affected internal and external groups, anticipated challenges, readiness needs and required supports.
  • Develops adoption roadmaps, communication plans, and transition strategies aligned with project objectives
  • Builds strong relationships with project sponsors, leaders, and internal and external interest holders to support engagement and alignment throughout the change process to support the Project and Program Managers.
  • Applies an understanding of CLBC's operating environment, including individuals and families, service providers, community partners, government, and other internal and external interest holders, to inform engagement, communication and change management approaches.
  • Translates complex project impacts, technical information, and process changes into clear, practical and accessible messages tailored for internal teams, external partners, service providers, individuals and families, and other impacted groups.
  • Partners with Project and Program Managers to integrate adoption and implementation activities into overall project plans, timelines, and deliverables
  • Documents project risk and issue tracking by identifying people - related risks and recommending strategies to address them.
  • Develops project documentation - including charters, plans, status updates, and dashboards - where needed.
  • Collaborates with the Project Portfolio Management Office (PPMO) to ensure alignment of adoption practices across the portfolio.
  • Contributes to the development, refinement, and standardization of tools, templates, and processes related to implementation and adoption.
  • Tracks lessons learned and emerging challenges to support continuous improvement in change and implementation practices.
What you will bring
