Job summary

Michael Page in Toronto is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to plan, execute and close projects within budget and schedule.

You will lead internal teams and external contractors, develop scopes, budgets, and schedules, and ensure adherence to quality standards in ICI projects across the Greater Toronto Area.

This senior role offers a base salary of CAD 100,000 to 135,000 plus bonus, RRSP match and mileage reimbursement, along with excellent benefits and corporate culture.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in a construction project management role.
• Experience overseeing Commercial and Institutional projects (additions, retrofits, some new builds).
• Strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of construction trades and ability to read drawings.

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing and finalizing projects within budget while adhering to deadlines. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan

Our client is a well established construction General Contractor, Design-Builder that works within the Greater Toronto Area. Looking to build on recent success and backed by strong reputation of quality construction, our client puts emphasis on the details in ICI construction projects.

Description

• In collaboration with senior management, define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals.
• The Project Manager will develop project plans and associated communications documents.
• Estimate the resources and personnel required to achieve project goals.
• Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
• The Project Manager will assess need for additional staff and/or consultants; liaise with department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within and/or outside the organization.
• Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
• Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
• Track project milestones and deliverables.

Profile

• 10+ years in a construction project management role.
• Post-secondary diploma or degree in engineering, construction management or similar field.
• Experience overseeing Commercial and Institutional projects, primarily additions, retro-fits and some new build projects.
• Experience leading complex projects with ownership of operations, client relations, project administration and other scopes for construction projects.
• Strong communication skills with the demonstrated ability to work with internal and external customers and members of extended team.
• Experience with leading, supporting, and managing project team and providing regular feedback on performance.
• Strong knowledge of construction trades and ability to understand drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel and MS Project
