Job summary

Michael Page (Canada) is seeking a seasoned Project Manager for commercial and institutional construction in the Greater Toronto Area. In collaboration with senior management, you will define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business objectives and client expectations.

You will develop plans, estimate resources, draft budgets, oversee staff and consultants, track milestones, and manage risks to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in construction project management.
• Post-secondary diploma or degree in engineering, construction management or similar field.
• Experience overseeing Commercial and Institutional projects, additions, retro-fits and some new build projects.
• Experience leading complex projects with ownership of operations, client relations, project administration and other scopes for construction projects.
• Strong communication skills with the demonstrated ability to work with internal and external customers and members of extended team.
• Experience with leading, supporting, and managing project team and providing regular feedback on performance.
• Strong knowledge of construction trades and ability to understand drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel and MS Project

Job Description

• In collaboration with senior management, define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals.
• The Project Manager will develop project plans and associated communications documents.

• Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
• The Project Manager will assess need for additional staff and/or consultants; liaise with department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within and/or outside the organization.
• Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
• Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
• Track project milestones and deliverables.
