ROLE OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Manager of Project Services, the Project Manager I will be responsible for the strategic decision making and development of the Project Services team. This individual will collaborate with other discipline leads and stakeholders to ensure that project scope, budget, schedule, quality, safety, and contractual requirements are achieved.

EXPERIENCE & ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Structural Engineering.
  2. Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in the Canadian oil and gas industry; previous EPCM experience is a must.
  3. 2+ years of multi-disciplinary project management experience.
  4. Registration with APEGA is a must.
  5. Registration as a PE in the USA is an asset.
  6. PMP Certification is an asset.
  7. Experience in managing multiple clients and projects at the same time.
  8. Experience with drafting proposals is an asset.
  9. Experience in effective and efficient Project Management procedures including risk and change management with clients.
  10. Proficiency in MS Office programs including MS Teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Follows all Kleinfelder policies and procedures.
  2. Effectively uses Kleinfelder workflows and processes to secure project resources, complete proposals, kick-off projects, maintain project records, monitor project financials, bill clients, collect fees, and perform close-outs and lessons learned.
  3. Contribute to Project Management team processes and procedures to ensure continuous improvement in project delivery.
  4. Execute small to medium sized multidisciplinary projects varying in scope and complexity with little supervision.
  5. Ensure efficient and cost-effective execution by adhering to budget and schedule constraints.
  6. Partner with discipline leads and other stakeholders as required to ensure efficient project execution.
  7. Lead client discussions as meeting chair with respect to assigned proposals and projects.
  8. Provide clear communication and guidance to members of the engineering project team including designers, engineers, and technicians.
  9. Champion and assist in development of project deliverables including work scopes, design basis documents, cost estimates, schedules, and other project related documents.
  10. Participate in the review and quality checking procedures for delivery of engineering drawings and engineering work packages.
  11. Report engineering and project progress against planned project budget and schedule.
  12. Completion of other relevant duties as required.

Business Development

  1. Realize and seize opportunity for proposals/additional work; collaborate with business development team to grow the business.
  2. Partner with stakeholders in proposal writing and estimating.
  3. Presentations and visits to client locations may be required.
