WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM

Our Mechanical Fabrication team is expanding! If you are a committed and collaborative professional eager to contribute to a hardworking, innovative team, this role is for you.

The Project Manager / Estimator, based in North York, ON, reports directly to the Department Manager. Your main focus will be to plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate pipe and structural fabrication projects from start to finish, ensuring they meet schedule, specifications, and budget. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning project execution in collaboration with the Department Manager in accordance with corporate policies
  • Building and maintaining customer and supplier relationships to enhance competitiveness and foster good customer relations
  • Preparing and submitting project budgets and estimates for pipe and structural fabrication (Excel, Accubid, Autobid)
  • Preparing fabrication drawings and models using Spoolfab, Revit, AutoCAD
  • Creating fabrication packages for shop floor processing
  • Performing miscellaneous tasks such as timesheet submissions and ordering materials
  • Collaborating with VDC and project engineers to provide fabrication-ready drawings
  • Managing project files and customer changes diligently
  • Planning and monitoring construction schedules and milestones
  • Negotiating contracts and revisions with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Implementing quality control programs
  • Preparing progress reports and schedules for clients
WHAT YOU CAN OFFER
  • Graduates of Mechanical Engineering or Construction Technology programs with relevant experience OR qualified tradespersons in the mechanical field with estimating/drafting experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in the structural or pipe fabrication industry
  • Experience in fab shops is an asset
  • Welding process experience is an asset
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Project
  • Experience with Accubid, Revit, AutoCAD, Spoolfab
