Job description

Are you interested in an opportunity to grow professionally within a positive and progressive culture? Northern Health is seeking a champion with project management experience to join our Capital Planning department.

Reporting to the Chief Project Officer (UHNBC Tower), the Project Manager, UHNBC Tower – Electrical is responsible for implementing the Acute Care Tower Project, overseeing the planning, design, and construction phases, and liaising with various stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to ensure operational requirements are addressed. In collaboration with the Alliance Team Members and the Alliance Project Manager (APM), facilitate cross-stream communication and, using a Best for Project decision-making approach, ensure the successful delivery of outcomes for design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the Project. Through their work stream teams, team members will promote achieving deliverables in a culturally safe manner, staying within or below the Alliance budget, meeting or exceeding the target schedule, and delivering quality and performance that realize gain share on Key Result Areas (KRAs).

Reports to the Chief Project Officer (UHNBC Tower) initially and will be reassigned to the Alliance Team on formation. Works in collaboration with the APM and project team members. This position is expected to work from the UHNBC Tower Project Office located in Prince George, BC.

Starting salary will be approximately from $88,990 to $111,237, based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) is the largest Acute Care facility within the Northern Health region and a hub for specialized health services. It’s also a teaching hospital :

Qualifications

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with advanced project management courses.
  • 5-7 years of experience in project planning / design / management in complex environments.
  • Equivalent education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Health care experience, PMP designation, or a degree in Business or Health Services Administration is an asset.

Skills and Abilities :

  • Knowledge of facilities development, healthcare projects, standards, regulations, and safety issues.
  • Advanced project management, stakeholder engagement, conflict resolution, budgeting, and reporting skills.
  • Leadership, organization, and ability to operate related equipment and software.
