Job summary

Artemis Gold Inc. in British Columbia's Blackwater project seeks a seasoned Construction Leader to drive civil earthworks and mining site development.

You will supervise large teams, coordinate daily activities, and ensure safety and scheduling adherence. The role requires 10+ years leading earthworks or tailings facilities, strong planning and communication, and the ability to work with engineers, surveyors, and contractors on-site.

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading large teams in civil earthworks, mining, Tailings Storage Facility or earth dam construction.
• Proven leadership with safety, efficiency and productivity as priorities.
• Technical ability to interpret plans, drawings and maps.
• Solid knowledge of heavy equipment capabilities and limits.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proven dedication to completing projects.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate effective safety leadership and enforce site safety standards.
• Manage, coordinate and schedule daily earthworks construction activities.
• Oversee roads, access, laydown yards, borrow areas, dams and berms construction.
• Supervise equipment operators and equipment usage (trucks, dozers, excavators, loaders).
• Coordinate with engineers, surveyors and construction specialists.
• Contribute to Employee Development Pathway and maintain records.
• Maintain PPE compliance and safe work practices.

Location: Blackwater Mine Site

Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
• Managing , coordinating and scheduling daily earthworks construction activities, such as:
• building of roads, accesses, and laydown yards
• stripping and developing borrowing areas building and compacting of dams and berms
• installing culverts, french drains and ponds
• snow removal
• road maintenance
• Supervision of equipment operators who run the following equipment: rock trucks, water trucks, packers, backhoes, excavators, dozers, loaders, graders.
• Effective coordination and utilization of onsite resources to deliver the project schedule safely, productively and on time.
• The ability to delegate tasks to teams and business partners.
• Must be able to work collaboratively with engineers, surveyors, and other construction specialists.
• Assist with supporting employees within the Employee Development Pathway and maintaining appropriate records.
• May be required to maintain a clean-shaven appearance (i.e. no facial hair) to ensure the safe and effective use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) associated with assigned duties.

Qualifications

• 10 + years leading large teams in civil earthworks, mining, Tailings Storage Facility or earth dam construction
• Proven leadership skills with safety, efficiency, and productivity being paramount
• Technical skills: must be able to interpret plans, drawings, maps
• Good knowledge and understanding in heavy equipment capabilities and limitations
