• Oversee tender packages, participate in contract evaluation and awards.
• Manage project teams including internal engineers, contractors, and consultants.

Assignment Description

Key Responsibilities

• Leadprojectsfrominitiationtocompletion,ensuringprojectsaredeliveredsafely,on time, and within budget;
• Developandmanageprojectscopes,schedules,andbudgets,includingregular reporting to NL Hydro leadership;
• Coordinatewithengineeringteamstoensureengineeringdesigns,specifications,and deliverables meet corporate standards and applicable codes.
• Overseeandreviewtenderpackages,participateincontractevaluationandaward processes, ensuring quality and value for NL Hydro;
• Manageprojectteams,includinginternalengineers,contractors,andconsultants,to achieve project objectives;
• Conductregularsitevisitstomonitorconstructionactivities,verifyprojectprogress,and provide support to site teams;
• Identify,evaluate,andmitigateprojectrisks,andmaintaintheprojectriskregister throughout the project lifecycle;
• Facilitateeffectivecommunicationacrossstakeholders,ensuringthatapprovedproject changes are reflected in the active budget and schedule;
• Reviewandapprovetechnicaldocumentation,includingcommissioningproceduresand designs.
• EnsurecontractorcompliancewithNLHydro'sContractorSafetyManagementPlanand corporate and Contractor HSE policies;
• Supportthedevelopmentoftechnical specifications.
• Leadprojectcloseoutactivities,ensuringsmoothtransitionofcompletedassetsto operations;
• Promotecontinualimprovementthroughlessonslearned,innovativeapproaches,and sharing best practices with other project teams;

Education & Experience Required

• EngineeringDegreeinengineeringregisteredwiththeProfessionalEngineersand Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL) association;
• Registered as a professional engineer (P. Eng) with the Professional Engineers and GeoscientistsofNewfoundlandandLabrador(PEGNL)association(orotherCanadian engineering association);
• Minimumof10yearsofprogressiveprojectmanagementand/orengineeringexperience in Civil/Structural Projects;
• Experienceleadingprojectriskidentificationsand mitigations
• Experiencewithonsiteprojectmonitoringatremote locations
• Experienceindesign,managingconstructioncontractsand commissioning;
• Provenanddemonstratedcommunication skills;
• Abilitytothriveasaparticipantand/orleaderwithinamulti-disciplineteamofbothinternal and external resources;
• Strongexperienceinprojectcontrols,planning,scheduling,andestimatingis considered an asset;
• Strongbackgroundincoordinatingandmanagingmultidisciplinaryprojectteams(e.g., electrical, civil, mechanical) and collaborating with design and construction groups;
• Demonstratedabilitytomanageprojectsonoperationalindustrialsites,including contractor supervision and adherence to site-specific safety requirements;
