Job summary

BC Hydro is seeking a driven Project Manager 1 for a full-time, 12-month temporary role at Horne Payne. You will lead projects within Security, Business Continuity and Emergency Management, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of PM experience in utilities, with strong communication and planning skills. Preference for PMP designation and a bachelor’s degree in a related field; travel within B.C.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline or combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of five years project management experience in a utility or similar environment.
• Knowledge of BC Hydro’s project management processes and strong leadership skills.
• Ability to organize cross-functional project teams to deliver multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects of varying size, diversity, complexity and risk within the Security, Business Continuity and Emergency Management portfolio.
• Demonstrate experience managing projects related to risk management or process changes with people impacts.
• Develop project plans with scope, budget, schedule and team responsibilities to achieve objectives.
• Deliver projects using standard project and change management practices for sustainment in business.
• Maintain exceptional stakeholder relationships to align objectives with the annual work plan priorities.
• Provide ongoing client support and act as a business process liaison.
• Develop business cases, prepare project reports and submit final reports for approval.
• Report risks to the PMO and collaborate with Change Management and Communications teams on plans.
