- The candidate will be responsible for managing projects of varying size, diversity, complexity and risk and ensuring their successful completion within the Security, Business Continuity and Emergency Management portfolio.
- The candidate must have demonstrated experience managing projects related to risk management and/or projects that involve process change and people impacts.
- The candidate will be responsible for developing project plans that include scope, budget, schedule and project team responsibilities to accomplish project objectives in the most cost effective manner using project management principles; the candidate will deliver projects using accepted project and change management practices to ensure effective transition of project work into sustainment in the business.
- The candidate will demonstrate exceptional stakeholder relationship management to ensure project objectives align with annual work plan priorities.
- The candidate will be responsible for providing continuous support to client areas and acting as a business process liaison.
- The candidate will support development of business cases, prepare project reports and, at completion, submit financial and final project reports for approval.
- The candidate will be responsible for reporting risks associated with the project to the Security & Emergency Management Project Management Office.
- The candidate will work effectively with BC Hydro Change Management and Communications teams to develop and deliver project change management plans, stakeholder engagement plans, training plans, and to communicate regarding projects.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must have a Bachelor degree or a combination of education and experience in a relevant discipline such as engineering, health & safety, information technology, business or operations, preferably in a utility or similar industry.
- The candidate must have a minimum of five years project management experience within a utility or similar environment.
- The candidate must have knowledge of BC Hydro’s project management processes and strong leadership skills.
- The candidate must have a proven ability to organize cross-functional project teams to effectively deliver multiple project(s).
- The candidate must have good communication skills, including excellent oral, written and presentation skills, for communication with a wide variety of internal and external parties.
- The candidate must have good planning, organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
- The candidate must maintain a Class 5 Driver’s License in good standing as a condition of employment for this job.
- The candidate with a Project Management Professional designation is preferred.
