Responsibilities:
- Provides project management on large-scale, complex, high-profile, and high-risk projects for OPS I&IT initiatives.
- Ensures project deliverables meet clients' business requirements on time, within scope and budget, focusing on cost-effectiveness, efficiencies, and compliance with OPS project management methodologies and frameworks.
General Skills
- Promotes OPS I&IT standards and best practices for project management to facilitate control of system quality, adherence to standard methodology, and resource management.
- Coordinates and optimizes processes.
- Manages client relationships, especially in government, NGO, and NPO environments, with risk advisory and consulting experience.
- Develops detailed project schedules and maintains project plans based on gathered requirements.
- Monitors and forecasts project costs, providing reports to ensure targets are met.
- Develops and manages project schedules, deliverables, and scope.
- Leads project teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance with standards.
- Coordinates project processes and develops guidelines and procedures.
- Sources, selects, and on-boards team members, clarifying roles and expectations for both unionized employees and FFS consultants.
- Resolves resourcing and interpersonal conflicts, negotiates resource changes, and shares knowledge among team members.
- Articulates and prioritizes issues and risks at senior levels, recommending mitigation strategies.
- Provides project, program, and portfolio reports to stakeholders.
- Implements strategies to manage change resistance during all project stages.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of PMI's Project Management Body of Knowledge.
- Understanding of Information Management principles, policies, and practices.
- Familiarity with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards.
- Ability to recommend software, hardware, and technology resources.
- Experience in monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving project issues.
- Conflict resolution skills between project and functional areas.
- Client relationship management and expectation setting.
- Ability to manage multiple work streams in fast-paced environments.
- Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, with flexibility to pivot as needed.
Must Haves
- 5+ years of IT Project Management experience leading projects.
- 5+ years of experience in writing project documentation.
- 5+ years of experience in process optimization.
Public Sector Experience: Broader Public Sector experience is required.
