Job summary

FWS Group of Companies is seeking a Project Manager for our Winnipeg office to lead projects from initiation through completion. You will ensure safety compliance, on-time delivery, and budgeting in line with specifications and scope.

Responsibilities include coordinating with planners, engineers, and consultants, handling contracts and bonds, and communicating with clients to resolve issues. The role supports flexible work arrangements where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in engineering or equivalent experience in project management.
• Experience with financial, legal, and organizational aspects of projects.
• Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Provides input on execution phases to meet client requirements.
• Manages overall project scope, purchase orders, subcontracts, equipment, insurance, permits and bonds.
• Collaborates with Project Planner, Design Engineer and consultants on scheduling and drawings.
• Initiates conflict resolution with subcontractors, suppliers and employees as needed.
• Implements client change requests to achieve project completion.
• Acts as primary project contact from start to finish, including building inspections.

To add to this expertise, we are recruiting for a Project Manager for our Winnipeg office location, to join our collaborative and team focused organization.

As our Project Manager, you are responsible for managing all aspects of projects from implementation phase through to completion. Ensure that projects are safety compliant, completed on time and the budget is in accordance with the specifications and scope of work.

Position Overview

• Provides input on execution phases of a project to ensure that the client requirements are met.
• Responsible for the overall management of the project including production of purchase orders, subcontracts, equipment, insurance, permits and bonds.
• Work with the Project Planner, Project Design Engineer, and outside consultants on specified project scheduling and drawing requirements.
• Initiates conflict resolution with subcontractors, suppliers and employees when necessary.
• Implements change requests from the client or as required for project completion.
• Primary project contact liaises with the client from the start of the project to completion. This includes building inspection.

Qualifications Needed

• Post-secondary education in the field of engineering OR minimum 5 years’ experience as a Project Coordinator/Project Manager in the construction industry.
• Understand the fundamental business principles such as, financial, legal, and organizational aspects
• Professional communicator, offering creative solutions while managing critical project details.
• Experience using MS Office, AutoCAD and project management software
