Job summary

FWS Group of Companies in Calgary is seeking a Project Manager to lead construction projects from implementation through completion. This on-site role emphasizes collaboration, safety, and accountability to deliver projects on time and within budget.

You will ensure safety compliance and budget adherence, coordinating with planners, engineers, and subcontractors, and acting as the main client liaison from start to finish.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or 5+ years PM experience in construction.
  • Understanding of financial, legal and organizational aspects.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving with MS Office/AutoCAD/PM software.

Responsibilities

  • Provides input on execution phases to ensure client requirements are met.
  • Manages overall project activities including POs, subcontracts, equipment, insurance, permits and bonds.
  • Collaborates with Project Planner, Design Engineer and consultants on scheduling and drawing needs.
  • Initiates conflict resolution with subcontractors, suppliers and employees as needed.
  • Implements client change requests and ensures project completion within scope.
  • Primary client liaison from project start to completion, including site inspections.

To add to this expertise, we are recruiting for a Project Manager for our Calgary office location, to join our collaborative and team focused organization.

As our Project Manager, you are responsible for managing all aspects of projects from implementation phase through to completion. Ensure that projects are safety compliant, completed on time and the budget is in accordance with the specifications and scope of work.

Position Overview
  • Provides input on execution phases of a project to ensure that the client requirements are met.
  • Responsible for the overall management of the project including production of purchase orders, subcontracts, equipment, insurance, permits and bonds.
  • Work with the Project Planner, Project Design Engineer, and outside consultants on specified project scheduling and drawing requirements.
  • Initiates conflict resolution with subcontractors, suppliers and employees when necessary.
  • Implements change requests from the client or as required for project completion.
  • Primary project contact liaises with the client from the start of the project to completion. This includes building inspection.
Qualifications Needed
  • Post-secondary education in the field of engineering OR minimum 5 years’ experience as a Project Coordinator/Project Manager in the construction industry.
  • Understand the fundamental business principles such as, financial, legal, and organizational aspects
  • Professional communicator, offering creative solutions while managing critical project details.
  • Experience using MS Office, AutoCAD and project management software
