The Opportunity

PLATO is Canada's only Indigenous-led, Indigenous-staffed software testing services firm. We prioritize working with quality people who share our passion for quality testing and have built a team that believes quality is the most important deliverable. Our team of software testing specialists believes that better software leads to a better world.

We are committed to building strong communities by training and employing members of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities across the country, aiming to build a network of 1000 Indigenous software testers across Canada. PLATO has offices on or near Indigenous communities in Fredericton, Sault Ste Marie, Ottawa/Gatineau, Regina, Prince Albert, Calgary, and Vancouver.

We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to join our professional services team. The Project Manager will oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of IT projects from initiation to closure. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent organizational and leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering complex IT projects on time and within budget. This role requires occasional on-site work with clients in Saskatoon or Regina, with the frequency depending on project needs and within a commutable distance.

Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage IT projects through their lifecycle, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
2. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables with stakeholders.
3. Create detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets; track progress and report status.
4. Coordinate resources including team members, vendors, and consultants.
5. Manage risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies.
6. Report on project progress to stakeholders through updates and presentations.
7. Facilitate project meetings and scrum ceremonies as needed.
8. Conduct root cause analysis and recommend continuous improvements.
9. Foster a collaborative team environment.
10. Ensure compliance with company policies and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager managing complex IT projects.
• Strong understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies.
• Experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Trello, Asana, Monday, Basecamp, or Smartsheet.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks under pressure.
• Experience managing budgets, resources, and timelines.
• Relevant certifications like PMP or CSM are required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive relationships.
• Excellent client-facing communication skills (verbal and written).
• Understanding of leadership styles and emotional intelligence.
• Highly organized, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning.
• Experience in coaching and mentoring team members.

Additional Requirements

• Must be within a commutable distance to Saskatoon or Regina for occasional on-site work.
• Flexibility to travel to client sites as needed, with frequency varying by project.
