About Allnorth

BIG ENOUGH TO KNOW HOW, SMALL ENOUGH TO KNOW YOU

Allnorth is a multi-disciplinary engineering, project delivery, and construction services company. We provide smart and practical project solutions to clients in the metals and minerals, energy and renewables, fiber and chemicals, and infrastructure sectors. With offices across Canada and into the United States, we continue to grow!

Our team is our most valuable asset, and a triple bottom line (TBL) philosophy is at the heart of our business. When it comes to guiding principles, safety is part of our DNA protecting our people, our clients and our communities. It takes a talented, motivated and empowered team to delight our clients while driving profitability for all parties. Our mutual success requires that we are committed to building and nurturing Indigenous relationships, supporting our communities, and recognizing the importance of environmental stewardship.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join our team in Prince George. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for leading a wide variety of engineering projects, though experience with specialty structures such as bridges, is considered an asset. This role focuses on managing scope, schedule, budgets, and ensuring client expectations are consistently met and/or exceeded. This role will have a heavy focus on the commercial aspects of projects, while working with technical leads across multiple technical disciplines to coordinate work, rather than serving as a discipline-specific technical lead. Our Vancouver team works primarily on projects in the Infrastructure, Mining & Metals, and Fibre and Chemicals sectors, but also supports projects across all sectors covered by Allnorth.

The successful candidate will be engaged in all levels of project delivery, beginning at proposal development and client engagement, and not ending until the completed project is turned over to the client and closed commercially. Working collaboratively with other Allnorth groups and subcontractors, you will have the opportunity to work with and lead team members to successfully deliver fast-paced projects.

If your ideal role is spending years on a single mega greenfield project, this may not be the right fit. Our team thrives on variety. We work across multiple sectors and project types, from brownfield retrofits to new greenfield developments. It’s an environment where experienced professionals bring their perspective, continue to grow, and collaborate with colleagues across North America in a true One Team culture.

A Day in the Life

  • Managing a variety of projects within the various sectors.
  • Interfacing with clients, team members, contractors, and others to clearly define project requirements and expectations.
  • Working with technical teams to generate proposals and project estimates.
  • Tracking project financials, schedules, status, and change management.
  • Ensuring completion of work within allotted schedules and budgets to high quality standards.
  • Creating project plans that include schedules, milestones, controls, and risk management plans.
  • Supporting safety planning for Allnorth teams.
  • Resolving performance, scope, and schedule issues as they arise.
  • Building business relationships with current and potential clients.
  • Seeking continuous improvement opportunities to positively impact project and team performance.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals at all levels, both internal and external to Allnorth.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management or engineering or commensurate experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience managing projects of various sizes.
  • Experience on the construction contracting side is considered an asset.
  • Understanding of the timelines and expectations with construction contracting.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or formal project management training is considered an asset.
  • Experience leading teams of engineering and design experts within a multi-disciplined environment.
  • A proactive approach to project management.
  • Familiarity with Project Management Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is an asset.
  • Strong technical writing skills demonstrated through experience in the preparation of correspondence, reports and proposals.
  • Effective verbal communicator, including presentation, facilitation and listening skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Results-oriented with the capacity to successfully manage multiple competing priorities and timelines.
  • Superior analytical, problem-solving, audit and investigation skills.
  • A proven ability to collaborate with team members and clients in a multi-disciplined environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in the province of British Columbia is not required but considered an asset.
