Job Description

Our client is currently looking for a Project Manager. Reporting to the Vice President, the Project Manager will oversee consulting projects, including contract/proposal preparation, financial management related to the projects, and quality assurance of services. The role involves working with the Vice President and Operations Managers to develop, train, and advance field staff. The Project Manager will assist in growing the Ottawa business and client base, requiring relevant academic training, technical knowledge, and at least five years of experience in Environmental, Hazardous Materials, or Occupational Hygiene.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing all aspects of consulting projects.
• Supervising hazardous materials sampling and related activities at various contaminated sites.
• Planning, conducting, supervising, and reviewing work for consulting projects.
• Designing programs to meet scope and regulatory standards.
• Ensuring project workflow, scheduling, and timely completion.
• Coordinating with clients and staff, presenting results, and managing meetings and audits.
• Managing project scope changes, invoicing, and expense processing.
• Delegating tasks, providing technical guidance, and mentoring staff.
• Supporting employee development, communication, and health and safety compliance.
• Participating in marketing and client development activities.

Qualifications include:

• A degree or diploma in Sciences, Environmental, Hazardous Materials, or Occupational Hygiene.
• Minimum five years of related experience.
• Ability to wear PPE and manage resources effectively.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and budget management skills.
• Willingness to travel and hold a valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software; project management training is an asset.
