Job summary

ERCO Worldwide is seeking a Project Manager to lead corporate engineering projects from concept to completion at our Mississauga site, in a hybrid work setting. Manage schedules, budgets, external consultants and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and cost control.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering degree and ≥10 years in field engineering/PM, a PMP is a plus and a P.Eng is required. You will collaborate across functions, review contracts, and drive safe, compliant execution for

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering; preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Field Engineering and Project Management.
  • Project Management training is required.
  • Professional Engineering License (P. Eng) is required.
  • PMP Certification is an asset.
  • Managing capital projects up to $50 million.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and instrumentation engineering, mechanical equipment and piping design.
  • Experience with vendors, contracts and procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop full scale project plans and schedules with clear communication to team members and stakeholders.
  • Estimate resources and participants required to achieve project goals.
  • Coordinate between engineering disciplines, consultants, suppliers and contractors.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend changes.
  • Issue project scope changes in a timely manner.
  • Analyze back charges with customers, contractors and suppliers.
  • Manage budgets and RFQ processes.
  • Review contracts and terms with legal and procurement.
  • Coordinate with Legal to draft NDAs and third-party contracts.
  • Review calculations for technical accuracy against project scope.
  • Ensure procedures are followed or deviations communicated.
  • Develop progress reports, requirements docs, and presentations.
  • Coach and supervise project team members and contractors.
  • Address issues and conflicts within project teams.
  • Arrange equipment inspections to meet specs.
  • Schedule and document project meetings and minutes.
  • Coordinate on-site construction and commissioning with contractors.
  • Participate in procurement discussions for equipment/services.
  • Perform engineering calculations and designs within scope.
  • Continue professional development within project team.

Join The Team:

ERCO Worldwide is looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Project Manager to join our Corporate Engineering team! To manage projects, from concept to completion, for and with external customers. Manage projects so that they are on schedule and within budget.

The Role:
  • Develop full scale project plans and produce project schedules while ensuring effective communication on project expectations to all team members and stakeholders
  • Estimate resources and participants required to achieve project goals
  • Coordinate between various work disciplines within the engineering department as well as external consultants, suppliers and contractors.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Issue project scope change documentation to all appropriate team members in a timely manner
  • Ensure back charges are analyzed and resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner with the customer, contractors and suppliers.
  • Manage budgets and issue requests for quotation in a complete and timely manner
  • Review Legal contracts, terms, and conditions, Services Agreements and Purchase Agreements in conjunction with legal counsel and Procurement.
  • Request and review with Legal Department to draft Non-Disclosure and Access Agreements and coordinate with third-party suppliers to fully execute contract documents.
  • Review calculations completed by both internal and external resources to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with the scope of the project.
  • Ensure project procedures are adhered to or deviations are communicated.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors
  • Identify and address issues and conflicts within project teams
  • Arrange and perform equipment inspections to ensure products meet specifications
  • Schedule project meetings, prepare agendas and draft minutes for the various phases of the project
  • Work and coordinate contractors on site for the construction of infrastructures and installation of equipment.
  • Coordinate work and resources with team members, equipment suppliers and contractors during commissioning and start-up.
  • Actively participate in commercial discussions for equipment and services procurement.
  • Perform engineering calculations and designs within engineering expertise.
  • Enhance personal engineering knowledge to address gaps in the available expertise within the project team.
The Person:
