ERM Canada is seeking a Managing Consultant, Project Manager (Indigenous Partnerships) to lead complex environmental projects in mining, energy and environmental stewardship across Canada, with a focus on Indigenous partnerships and regional growth in southeast BC.

You will guide multidisciplinary teams, manage scope, schedule and budgets, and build trusted client and Indigenous relationships while advancing ERM’s Indigenous Lead Environmental Practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of consulting experience in environmental or related technical disciplines.
• Experience in the mining and/or energy sector.
• Proven ability to coordinate and manage environmental scopes of work.
• Detail-oriented with strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently while aligning with internal governance and direction.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated competence with core project management practices (change management, risk management, quality management, financial tracking).
• Demonstrated financial literacy, with the ability to lead project controls activities such as budget tracking, cost forecasting, invoicing support, and understanding project financial performance.
• Demonstrated ability to support business development, including identifying opportunities, contributing to proposals, and building trusted client relationships.
• Experience working respectfully and collaboratively with Indigenous partners, Indigenous-owned businesses, or community-connected organizations.
• Driver’s License Required: frequent travel to client locations across a large geographical area.

What Your Impact Is

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in guiding all sectors that ERM supports including mining, diversified energy, renewables, municipal and environmental stewardship projects from early proposal development through to final report completion. You’ll help bring clarity and structure to complex environmental initiatives by coordinating multidisciplinary teams so that each project advances with purpose and accountability. Your ability to translate client goals into actionable plans will directly influence how schedules are designed, budgets are managed, logistics are coordinated, and high-quality outcomes are delivered for defined scopes of work.

You’ll work directly with clients to understand what they are trying to achieve and help steer technical teams toward solutions that meet those expectations, escalating risks as appropriate. Your grounding in project controls will be essential in keeping work on track, on budget, and aligned with commitments.

Your contributions will extend beyond project mechanics. You’ll support a broad range of environmental projects, champion a strong culture of health and safety, and help foster collaboration across ERM’s internal networks. In doing so, you’ll become part of a global community of practitioners working together to tackle some of the most meaningful environmental and social challenges facing our clients.

A core part of your impact will be supporting the growth of ERM’s environmental and sustainability practice through Indigenous Partnerships as a trusted environmental partner in southeast British Columbia. You will support business development by identifying opportunities, strengthening client relationships, contributing to proposals, and help shaping the importance of Indigenous participation and execution through project delivery. This role requires the ability to help maintain respectful and durable relationships with Indigenous and industry partners by listening carefully, communicating transparently, and supporting work that reflects alignment of shared values.

Preferred

• 6+ years of consulting experience in environmental or related technical disciplines. Experience supporting capacity building, Indigenous participation, or partnership-based delivery models in environmental consulting or natural resource projects.
• Experience developing and managing project schedules, including dependencies and critical path.
• Experience with project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, Smartsheet).
• Experience managing environmental, regulatory, permitting, and/or field programs.
• Field data collection experience (wildlife, terrestrial ecology, soils, wetlands, aquatic biology, hydrology).
• Project Management Professional (PMP), or other related certification, is also an advantage.
• Bilingual in English and French and/or Spanish.

For the Managing Consultant, Project Manager (Indigenous Partnerships) position, theanticipatedannual base pay is $91,300–$137,400 (CAD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay subject to the sole discretion of ERM and its policies and procedures (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
