JOB TITLE: Project Manager

SUMMARY

The Project Manager will support Metro’s growth through leading both internal and client projects. As part of the overall Project Management Office (PMO), the Project Manager shall ensure that all projects are captured, monitored and managed to successful completion. Reporting to the Director PMO, this role is the hands-on technical expert responsible for the organization full life cycle approach to projects - from planning through completion. The role will contribute to Metro’s successful onboard of new customers, transition of existing customers within our network or other strategic projects, as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for managing and leading multiple projects simultaneously using Metro’s PMO methodology, standards, and governance.
  • Responsible for ensuring projects are completed on-time, on-budget, and on scope.
  • Create and manage the budget.
  • Establish and monitor project controls related to scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality.
  • Develop and manage all project documents from project chartering, budgeting, WBS, change request, close-out, lessons learned, etc.
  • Lead projects in a collaborative manner, building and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Responsible for securing acceptance and approval of deliverables from project sponsor and stakeholders.
  • Manage, motivate, and coach project team members to ensure completion of respective tasks.
  • Acts as liaison between the project team and Senior management.
  • Responsible for project communication, including status reporting, risk management, escalation of issues, etc.
  • Ensure all project documents are stored and managed in project repository.
  • Manage contractor/consultant relationships relevant to the projects.
  • Identify issues that need to be resolved during projects and facilitate resolutions with appropriate project stakeholders.
  • Conduct training as relevant or required to project team, other project managers or wider team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE

  • 5 + years’ experience in Project Management within the Logistics industry and demonstrated ability in managing a range of diverse projects and external client-driven projects.
  • Experienced in 3PL, with a preference for CPG, Retail, eCommerce or Automotive sectors.
  • A proven track record of delivering projects to time, cost and quality.
  • Experience working in a matrix- or project-based environment.
  • Experience working with and leading projects and working/interfacing with external clients.
  • Proven facilitation, negotiation, and influential skills and entrepreneurial approach.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).
  • Builds and manages an effective project team.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Flexible and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
  • Software expert (MS office, Smartsheet, MS Project, Visio, etc.)
  • Ability to travel, as required.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • PMP Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of resource management, budget, cost management tool.
