Job summary

Health Shared Services is seeking a Project Manager to join the province-wide IT Facility Projects team. The role covers hospital builds, renovations and staff relocations, on a temporary maternity leave basis, with location flexibility within Edmonton Zone.

Responsibilities include leading small projects or parts of larger programs, coordinating teams, managing schedules, and handling budgets. A PM designation path is encouraged, with at least 5 years IT/clinical project experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or IT Polytechnic Certificate or equivalent experience, actively working towards a project management designation.
• A minimum of 5 years of project experience working in an IT or Clinical environment.
• Intermediate knowledge of project management principles, tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Project Management: Lead, plan, and organize small projects or portions of larger projects/programs using standardized tools and techniques, managing multiple projects concurrently.
• Team Coordination: Provide leadership and organization to project resource team members by monitoring, delegating, and reviewing work completed by the team, contractors, or other external stakeholders.
• Schedule Management: Maintain schedules, prioritize, and monitor work plans and assignments to ensure timely delivery within program parameters.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively, manage expectations, and represent the organization’s interests to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Meeting Facilitation: Lead and participate in meetings to document action items, user requirements, and issues.
• Requirements Gathering: Gather user group requirements and build IT equipment lists for approval by Project Managers and stakeholders.
• Risk Management: Support the project team in managing issues and risks, identifying and escalating risks, issues, problems, and challenges to the Project Manager.
• Documentation: Create project proposals and charters for smaller projects as required, and work within the PMO Methodology (PPM) Tool.
• Financial Management: Monitor, maintain, and analyze budget and cost controls for the project/initiative.
