Alberta Health Services is seeking a Coordinator II - Project Coordinator in Camrose to support the delivery of major capital and complex hospital projects. The role reports to the Director, Senior Project Manager and/or Project Manager and involves lifecycle activities from initiation through close-out, including budgeting, scheduling and procurement.
Responsibilities include coordinating stakeholders and contractors, administering contracts, and ensuring quality and safety inspections.
This is a 12 month temporary position reporting to the Director, Senior Project Manager and/or the Project Manager as applicable. The Coordinator II - Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Senior Project Manager and/or Project Manager in the delivery and implementation of the project through the project life cycle, including project initiation, planning & design, execution, close-out, monitoring and control. Types of projects may include major and minor capital projects and complex operational building infrastructure projects within Alberta Health Services. The Project Management Coordinator’s duties will include, but are not limited to, scoping activities as directed, the development of project schedules, project budgets, procurement documentation and cash flow forecasts. In addition, this position will perform contract administration, project supervision, building and operational commissioning, coordination of equipment installation and preliminary reviews and recommendations for approval of the project expenditures. The Project Management Coordinator is the liaison between the stakeholders, consultants, and the construction team. Excellent communication skills are critical to balancing stakeholders’ needs within project constraints. This position also coordinates service shutdowns and inspections and quality & specification adherence inspections, ensures the constructors are adhering to facility guidelines and participates in value engineering exercises.
As a Coordinator II, you will require advanced or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex projects, procedures, practices or initiatives within a department, program or business unit.
Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Journeyman Trade Certificate. Diploma in related Architecture or Building or Engineering technology program.
Preferred Qualifications:5-7 years of related commercial/institutional construction project management experience with preference in hospital or healthcare facility construction and/or healthcare facility management experience preferred. Computer assisted Project Management scheduling, theories, principles, practices and processes; as well as accounting and financial reporting systems and process knowledge would be an asset.
