Job summary

FLINT is a leading service provider in Canada’s energy and industrial markets, seeking a Project Manager in the Craft & Corporate division to transform technical specifications into completed projects that power Canada’s energy and industrial sectors.

Reporting to the Area Manager, you will manage multiple mechanical projects, develop plans and systems, align with goals and budgets, and mentor teams to deliver results while supporting FLINT's 100-year legacy of infrastructure development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor- or diploma-level education in business, project management, or related technical field; Journeyperson certificate is an asset.
  • Experience managing the mechanical aspects of brownfield/greenfield construction, pipelines, and plant shutdowns.
  • Ability to read and interpret RFPs, and technical, electrical, and instrumentation drawings.
  • Proficient in using systems for estimating, scheduling, and project management.
  • Experience analyzing project and operational financial data and implementing performance action plans.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with client representatives throughout development, execution, and completion to ensure clear communication.
  • Execute contracts according to client requirements, ensuring scope and terms are understood.
  • Oversee multiple projects with developed execution plans to meet goals and budgets.
  • Assist in developing the original budget, manage changes, track progress, and forecast accurately.
  • Provide direction to the Project Controls group and address performance issues.

Job Description

Behind every successful mechanical project is a Project Manager who knows how to navigate complex challenges, coordinate diverse teams, and deliver results that meet exacting standards. As our Project Manager in the Craft & Corporate division, you'll apply your mechanical expertise and leadership skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously—turning plans into reality while developing the teams around you. Your work will directly contribute to FLINT's 100-year legacy of building critical infrastructure that serves communities across Canada.

Reporting directly to the Area Manager, you will utilize your 3+ years of experience managing mechanical projects to lead the successful execution of each project. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive project plans and systems, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and budget while receiving strategic support from the Area Manager.

What would you be doing?

  • Execute contracts according to the client’s requirements and specifications, ensuring the scope of work, terms, and conditions are understood and communicated to management.
  • Oversee multiple projects, ensuring execution plans are developed and implemented to meet project goals and objectives.
  • Assist in developing the original budget, managing changes, determining progress, and generating accurate forecasts.
  • Provide direction to the Project Controls group, formally evaluating performance, offering feedback, and resolving any performance-related issues.

Qualifications
  • Education in business management, project management, or other related technical fields; a Journeyperson certificate is an asset.
  • Experience managing the mechanical aspects of brownfield/greenfield construction, pipelines, and plant shutdowns.
  • Ability to read and interpret Requests for Proposals (RFPs), as well as technical, electrical, and instrumentation drawings.
  • Proficient in utilizing systems for estimating, scheduling, and project management.
  • Experience analyzing project and operational financial data, with the ability to implement performance action plans to improve results.
