Job summary

Panelmatic is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join RIC Power in Burnaby, BC, Canada. The role involves planning, executing, and closing projects with defined milestones, while managing risks, budget, and stakeholder communications.

You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, on-time results and ensure proper project closure and handover of deliverables. This position requires engineering background and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree.
  • Project management experience, PMP an asset.
  • Electrical Engineering degree considered an asset.
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • 2D CAD.
  • MS Project or similar PM software.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and close projects with defined milestones.
  • Identify and manage risks and issues.
  • Track expenses against the budget and report variances.
  • Manage change processes for scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Communicate with stakeholders and customers.
  • Maintain project documentation and lessons learned.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations and handover deliverables.

Panelmatic is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join RIC Power, our sister company in Burnaby, BC, Canada.

Position Summary

The project manager is responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects by defining milestones, managing resources, mitigating risks, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring quality and budget adherence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning: Define or document existing project scope, goals, and deliverables, and create a detailed project plan outlining timelines, resources, and milestones.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and issues, and proactively implement mitigation plans.
  • Budget Management: Track project expenses against the budget, ensuring that the project stays within financial constraints and reporting variances as needed.
  • Change Management: Manage commercial and contractual change processes, including identification, documentation, negotiation, and implementation of changes to scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders (internal and external), providing updates on progress, approved changes, risks, and any issues that arise.
  • Customer Communication: Communicate effectively with customers to provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and issues.
  • Documentation: Maintain project documentation, including plans, reports, meeting notes, risk registers, change logs, and lessons learned for future reference.
  • Project Closure: Conduct post-project evaluations, gather feedback, and ensure proper closure procedures are followed, including final reporting and handover of deliverables.
Measurable Performance
  • Schedule variance: Measurement of project timeline adherence.
  • Risk management effectiveness: Ability to identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle, measured by the number of issues/non-conformances escalated.
  • Stakeholder Satisfaction: Surveys or feedback from clients and team members about their satisfaction with the project outcome and management.
Required Education and Training
  • Engineering Degree
  • Project management experience, PMP an asset
  • Electrical Engineering degree considered an asset
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • 2D CAD
  • MS Project or similar PM software
