Job summary

Panelmatic is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join RIC Power in Burnaby, BC. The role entails planning, executing, and closing projects by defining milestones, managing resources, mitigating risks, and ensuring quality and budget adherence. The ideal candidate holds an Engineering Degree and has strong communication skills.

Experience with MS Project and 2D CAD is preferred; PMP is an asset. You will work closely with stakeholders and customers, maintain documentation, and drive

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning: define scope, goals, deliverables, and create detailed project plans with timelines and milestones
  • Risk Management: identify risks, dependencies and issues; implement mitigation plans
  • Budget Management: track expenses and report variances to stay within budget
  • Change Management: manage scope and cost changes, document and negotiate impacts
  • Stakeholder Communication: provide updates to internal and external stakeholders
  • Customer Communication: update clients on progress, risks and issues
  • Documentation: maintain plans, reports, meeting notes, risk registers and logs
  • Project Closure: conduct evaluations, gather feedback, and handover deliverables

Panelmatic is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join RIC Power, our sister company in Burnaby, BC, Canada.

Position Summary

The project manager is responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects by defining milestones, managing resources, mitigating risks, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring quality and budget adherence.



Key Responsibilities


  • Project Planning: Define or document existing project scope, goals, and deliverables, and create a detailed project plan outlining timelines, resources, and milestones.

  • Risk Management: Identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and issues, and proactively implement mitigation plans.

  • Budget Management: Track project expenses against the budget, ensuring that the project stays within financial constraints and reporting variances as needed.

  • Change Management: Manage commercial and contractual change processes, including identification, documentation, negotiation, and implementation of changes to scope, cost, and schedule.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders (internal and external), providing updates on progress, approved changes, risks, and any issues that arise.

  • Customer Communication: Communicate effectively with customers to provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and issues.

  • Documentation: Maintain project documentation, including plans, reports, meeting notes, risk registers, change logs, and lessons learned for future reference.

  • Project Closure: Conduct post-project evaluations, gather feedback, and ensure proper closure procedures are followed, including final reporting and handover of deliverables.



Measurable Performance


  • Schedule variance: Measurement of project timeline adherence.

  • Risk management effectiveness: Ability to identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle, measured by the number of issues/non-conformances escalated.

  • Stakeholder Satisfaction: Surveys or feedback from clients and team members about their satisfaction with the project outcome and management.



Requirements

Required Education and Training


  • Engineering Degree

  • Project management experience, PMP an asset

  • Electrical Engineering degree considered an asset

  • Extreme attention to detail

  • 2D CAD

  • MS Project or similar PM software

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task
