Job summary

Safran is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering professional for the Mirabel plant to lead the industrialization of components for landing gear and support the APQP framework. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage risks, and drive validations from concept to production, ensuring safety, quality, and cost targets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead industrialization processes and product manufacturability within APQP framework.
  • Oversee validation activities (PVI-PPAP) and equipment readiness.
  • Manage modifications and optimization of the manufacturing chain.
  • Lead industrial investment projects.
  • Coordinate risk analyses (FMEAs) and establish validation plans.

Safran Landing Systems is a subsidiary of Safran Landing Systems, a global leader in landing and braking systems for aircraft. The Mirabel plant is dedicated to the manufacturing of major components for landing gear for the Airbus A320, A330, and A350 models, as well as the Boeing 787. It features state-of-the-art equipment for machining, polishing, and special processes, including heat treatment, shot peening, and surface treatments.

The Missions Are As Follows
  • Lead the industrialization process and product manufacturability with the required robustness while respecting technical specifications as well as cost/quality/deadlines/SSE objectives.
  • Oversee the realization, implementation of all production means and their validation (PVI-PPAP)
  • Manage the modification and optimization processes of the manufacturing chain
  • Lead industrial investment projects
Main Tasks And Responsibilities
  • Animate the multidisciplinary team assigned to the industrialization project to meet the program requirements outlined during the Industrialization Mandate of the industrialization project following the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process
  • Define the project framework, roles, and responsibilities of each member of the multidisciplinary team
  • Ensure compliance with objectives (safety, quality, cost), planning to meet the deadlines of the industrialization project
  • Coordinate, animate, and lead risk analyses (FMEAs)
  • Manage industrial milestones through risks and build industrial validation
  • Establish the validation action plan for product and/or process characteristics of the Industrial Validation File
  • Use risk analysis and statistical methods
  • Establish a schedule and reporting tools and ensure reporting to operational managers and project clients
  • Participate as needed in co-engineering and ensure Product/Process consistency by challenging the definition and range to be compatible with the Quality/Cost/Deadline objectives of the mandate (DEV and MAN processes)
  • Lead the multidisciplinary team to implement an industrial investment project
Requirements

  • University degree in aeronautical, mechanical, or materials engineering.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in manufacturing engineering
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes in aeronautics (machining, inspection, special processes, assembly)
  • Knowledge of CAD software Catia V5, Smarteam, Delmia V6, and PDM
  • Mastery of methodological tools such as FMEA
  • Economic knowledge (investment profitability calculation, cost evaluation, target cost design)
  • Knowledge of problem-solving tools (5P, 8D, …)
  • Project management
