Job summary

Safran is seeking a Production Supervisor at its Mirabel, Canada facility to oversee daily shift operations for aerospace component manufacturing. You will coordinate production teams, monitor performance indicators, and ensure safety, quality, and delivery targets are met in a high-tech environment.

You will lead continuous improvement efforts, manage schedules and overtime, and mentor manufacturing staff while upholding standards and the collective agreement.

Qualifications

• DEC or DEP in a relevant discipline
• Minimum 3 years of team management experience in aerospace or high-tech manufacturing environments
• Experience with ERP/MRP tools (SAP, ShopVue, MES, CMMS)
• Knowledge of HSE rules and procedures
• Mastery of the collective agreement
• Strong leadership and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily operations of the shift to meet performance targets (production planning, quality, HSE)
• Coordinate work of production teams on the ground
• Ensure productivity and efficiency targets are met
• Track indicators (on-time delivery, scrap rates, machine downtime)
• Prioritize follow-up on production progress when necessary
• Manage shift transitions and reassign employees as needed
• Identify issues or opportunities for improvement and allocate resources
• Lead and participate in daily production follow-up meetings (QRQC)
• Support quality, continuous improvement, HSE efforts
• Promote skills development and training for manufacturing staff
• Conduct interviews with manufacturing employees

Safran Landing Systems is a subsidiary of Safran Landing Systems, a world leader in landing and braking systems for aircraft. The Mirabel plant is dedicated to the manufacturing of major components for landing gear for the Airbus A320, A330, and A350 models, as well as the Boeing 787. It features state-of-the-art equipment for machining, polishing, and special processes, including heat treatment, shot peening, and surface treatments.

The supervisor is responsible for ensuring the progress of production activities to ensure team efficiency.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

• Monitor daily operations of their shift to ensure teams meet performance targets in terms of production planning, quality, HSE, etc.
• Coordinate the work of production teams on the ground
• Ensure productivity and efficiency targets are met
• Track indicators (on-time delivery, scrap rates, machine downtime…)
• If necessary, prioritize follow-up on production progress
• Ensure the transition between the previous and next shifts and, if needed, reassign employees
• Identify and anticipate problematic situations or areas for improvement and coordinate resources to ensure effective production
• Guide, support, and supervise manufacturing employees (adherence to rules, communication, annual evaluations, approval of hours to be paid, etc.)
• Manage schedule changes, overtime, absences, etc.
• Support and participate in quality, continuous improvement, Health, Safety, and Environment efforts (IGP, 5S, risk analyses)
• Promote the development of manufacturing employees' skills, including newcomers
• Conduct individual interviews with manufacturing employees
• Lead and participate in daily production follow-up team meetings (QRQC, …)
