Job summary

Safran Landing Systems in Mirabel, QC, is seeking a production manager to lead a team responsible for delivering the production plan with high efficiency and quality. You will supervise methods agents, programmers, and manufacturing staff, ensuring HSE compliance, problem solving, and continuous improvement.

Fluency in French and English is preferred; experience in a unionized manufacturing environment is valued.

Safran Landing Systems is a subsidiary of Safran Landing Systems, a global leader in landing and braking systems for aircraft. The Mirabel plant is dedicated to manufacturing major components of landing gear for Airbus A320, A330, and A350 models, as well as the Boeing 787. It features state-of-the-art equipment for machining, polishing, and special processes, including heat treatment, shot peening, and surface treatments.

The manager is responsible for all operations of a value chain to ensure performance in terms of delivery, production, efficiency, quality, and health, safety, and environment (HSE). Under their supervision are the methods agents or operational programmers and the manufacturing employees in their sector.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities
  • Delegates tasks and decisions to the team based on their capabilities to foster their commitment to team objectives and autonomy
  • Guides and assists the team in solving problems and making decisions simply and effectively
  • Implements everything necessary to ensure the execution of the production plan to meet deliveries
  • Identifies and anticipates problematic situations and obtains help from a resource person to resolve the issue (maintenance, quality, HR, etc.)
Human Resources
  • Creates and maintains a work environment that fosters engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Ensures compliance with the company's rules, procedures, and policies, including the collective agreement (if necessary, has the authority to impose disciplinary measures)
  • Communicates effectively and ensures communication within the team
Health Safety Environment
  • With the HSE teams, ensures awareness and compliance with HSE rules and policies in their sector
  • Encourages people to report risks and participate in finding solutions
  • Ensures the completion of Inspections, Analyses, and associated Action Plans
Production
  • Works with the Planning team to monitor the production plan and adjusts as needed to ensure objectives are met.
  • Ensures the availability and optimization of resources to promote workforce efficiency
  • Manages workforce movements to ensure optimal versatility of manufacturing employees in their sector
Quality
  • Works with quality teams to ensure awareness among operators regarding quality (internal and external)
  • Ensures the dynamics and performance of operational problem-solving RPO / 8D
  • Ensures the achievement of quality objectives and performance for their sector
Continuous Improvement
  • Supports continuous improvement activities
Requirements
