Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Civil Engineer to join our Montreal team, overseeing project management, design reviews, and site inspections. You will coordinate stakeholders and ensure timely shop drawing processing while maintaining health and safety compliance.

With a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and at least four years of experience, you will contribute to contract compliance, reporting, and meticulous documentation to support project success.

Qualifications

• Be a member in good standing of the OIQ.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as an engineer.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and effective priority management.
• Excellent collaboration, coordination, and influential leadership skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Participate in internal and external project kickoff meetings.
• Conduct design reviews for design assignments when required.
• Verify the compliance of bids received.
• Ensure the processing of shop drawings.
• Monitor the quality of construction work through site visits.
• Participate in site meetings in accordance with the contract.
• Coordinate the stakeholders involved in the projects.
• Prepare site visit reports and meeting minutes.
• Assess the costs and impacts of changes to the work.
• Prepare change notices and site instructions.
• Recommend appropriate measures to the client.
• Monitor progress payment applications and the percentage of work completed.
• Monitor planning, activity execution, deliverable quality, and compliance with schedules.
• Ensure compliance with project health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with the various project stakeholders.
• Ensure that quality control activities are completed and documented.
• Coordinate and monitor the stages of the work’s provisional and final acceptance.
