Grundfos in Brockville, Ontario, Canada (hybrid) is seeking a Project Engineer to design and engineer custom water and wastewater treatment systems that meet client specifications, are compliant, and cost-effective.

As our new Project Engineer , you'll be designing and engineering custom water and wastewater treatment systems that deliver reliable, compliant solutions tailored to each customer's unique requirements. As a key part of the Water Treatment Engineering team, you'll create impact by translating customer specifications into buildable, cost-effective system designs that ensure clean water reaches the people and industries that depend on it.
Design water and wastewater treatment equipment using SolidWorks, ERP systems, and other engineering tools to meet customer specifications and compliance requirements
Review technical documents for completeness and provide technical leadership on engineering projects throughout the design-to-build lifecycle
Support procurement and manufacturing during system builds by resolving issues, answering questions, and confirming projects proceed on schedule and within budget
Coordinate cross-functionally with production, testing, purchasing, field startup, and project management to ensure seamless project execution
Contribute to proposal generation, system operating manuals, and continuous improvement of engineering tools and processes
This position will report to the Brockville, CA or San Luis Obispo, US location on a hybrid schedule.
Above all, you're a detail-oriented mechanical engineer with hands‑on experience in water treatment system design, strong cross-functional collaboration skills, and a proven ability to balance technical precision with project timelines and budgets. You'd also imagine that you are/have:
A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience is required
A Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the applicable state or province
A minimum of 2+ years of related engineering experience, preferably in the water treatment industry
Working knowledge of pumps, blowers, and other fluid handling equipment
Experience using SolidWorks for equipment and system design
Prior costing and budgeting experience for engineered-to-order projects
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
The salary range for this position is $80,900 to $107,700 CAD. Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate’s profile. The range listed is just one component of Newterra’s total compensation and benefits package for employees. Total compensation includes paid time off, paid holidays, merit increases, commissions for sales employees, etc.
