Job summary

Border Paving Ltd. in Alberta is hiring Project Coordinators to support construction operations, bridging field and office teams from start to finish.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in civil engineering or construction management or related field.
  • Combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans and technical documents.
  • Learn and apply TAS, Eco Plans and Alberta Transportation requirements.
  • Proficient computer skills and a valid Class 5 license.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison between project managers, office staff, subcontractors and field crews.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture with inspections and toolbox talks.
  • Manage locate requests, monitor validity, and communicate requirements to crews.
  • Understand project budgets and monitor costs as work progresses; review final costs.
  • Assist with onsite labour tasks, training and field support as required.
  • Assist with resource planning including materials, equipment and crew scheduling.
  • Attend project meetings and communicate changes as required.
  • Review drawings and job scope, assist with site measurements, grades, survey support and documentation.
  • Track QC testing and ensure timely communication of results.

We are hiring Project Coordinators to support our construction operations. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, friendly, ambitious, safety-conscious and comfortable taking initiative. As a Project Coordinator, you'll work closely with both field and office teams, supporting projects from start to finish. This is a hands-on position with direct involvement in day-to-day site activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a liaison between project managers, office staff, subcontractors and field crews.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture. Complete inspections, toolbox talks, track compliance and ensure all paperwork is complete.

  • Actively assist with onsite labour tasks, training and day to day field support as required.
  • Assist with resource planning including material quantities, equipment needs and crew scheduling.
  • Attend project meetings and communicate changes as required.
  • Review drawings and job scope documents, assist with site measurements, grades, survey support and documentation.
  • Track QC testing, sample availability and ensure results are communicated promptly.
Qualifications
  • Post secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • A combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans and technical documents.
  • Learn and apply traffic accommodation plans (TAS), Eco Plans and Alberta Transportation requirements.
  • Proficient computer skills and a valid Class 5 license.
