Job description

As part of the Carrier Services Team, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for managing connectivity requirements of Xplore’s Core and Access & Aggregation networks. This involves working with third-party circuit providers, Build and Capacity teams in identifying new circuit or upgrade requirements and processing orders.

This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Carrier Services (Core Networks) in Markham, Ontario.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Gathering and evaluating circuit requirements from Fibre/Wireless/Build teams and creating circuit facility checks or inquiries
2. Evaluating circuit costs from third-party circuit providers in relation to current and future requirements, and exploring alternatives
3. Generating circuit orders using vendors’ portals and order forms, ensuring on-time service delivery
4. Reviewing and negotiating proposals and contracts with vendors
5. Supporting other Network teams in connectivity-related requests and issues
6. Creating and maintaining circuit records and configurations, including the Quickbase Circuits database

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Minimum 2 years of telecom experience in a service provider or network vendor environment
• Knowledge of service provider Ethernet and Wavelength transport solutions, including Ethernet Private Line (EPL) and Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL)
• Basic knowledge of Ethernet technologies, 5G/LTE, and microwave backhaul systems
• Knowledge of database systems such as Quickbase
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English
• Good computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications including Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Technologist Diploma or equivalent experience
