Visitor Attractions | Storyteller | Creative Director | Executive Producer | Chartered Industrial Designer

We have an opening for a Project Coordinator to join the team in our Canadian Studio & Interactive Lab.

This is an entry-level gateway role to project management. It will involve all aspects of our projects from concept to completion.

You should be passionate about visitor attractions. A frequent visitor to museums, cultural centres, theme parks, and other immersive experiences will have a strong foundation for this role. You should understand the importance of maintaining a creative vision while guiding the project through the realities of the real world. You should have experience, knowledge, and passion for custom fabrication, as well as excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the execution of projects from award to completion.
• Assist with hands-on project development, including prototyping, interactives, and research and development.
• Contact vendors and suppliers to assist in sourcing and purchasing parts and supplies for projects.
• Utilize project management software to track progress, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
• Regular communication with the Story Factory team, vendors, and suppliers.
• Ensure tasks are completed efficiently and by the due dates provided.
• Strong listening and organizational skills are essential.
• A desire to learn is also essential.
• Local travel and site visits will be required, so having your own vehicle is an asset.

ABOUT YOU

• A degree or diploma in any of the following: combined media, communication & design, concept art for entertainment, creative industries, digital experience design, film studies, graphic design/communication, interactive media arts, interior design, media studies, project management, technology, or theatre.
• A passion for visitor attractions and immersive environments.
• Knowledge and interest in AV, user experiences, millwork, interactives, graphic production, lighting, or visual arts.
• Experience working on visitor attraction projects is strongly preferred.
• Fabrication shop experience; a basic understanding of materials, shop tools, and fabrication techniques.
• Confidence to reach out to vendors and suppliers to request information & quotes.
• Excellent time management and the ability to multitask.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
