Job summary

TEEMA Group seeks a Roofing Foreman in Nelson, BC, to lead a flat roofing crew on commercial projects. You will coordinate daily activities, interpret blueprints, manage materials, and ensure safety and quality.

This role requires strong leadership, at least five years in flat roofing, and a valid driver's license. You will monitor progress, mentor apprentices, and submit detailed daily reports while maintaining client relations and warranty compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial flat roofing.
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of flat roofing systems (SBS, TPO, EPDM, BUR, gravel roofing, other low-slope systems).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specs.
• Strong reporting and documentation skills.
• Comfortable working at heights; valid driver’s license required.
• Reliable, organized and solutions-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Inspect installations to meet manufacturer specs and warranty requirements.
• Inspect completed work for quality and code compliance.
• Identify and resolve on-site issues and report progress to management.
• Prepare daily reports including labour hours and materials usage.
• Enforce health and safety policies per WorkSafeBC and company standards.
• Represent the company professionally with clients and subcontractors.
• Perform other duties as operational needs dictate.

What you will be doing:

• Lead and supervise crews on a flat roofing project.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily work activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications.
• Assign tasks, monitor crew performance, and provide coaching and mentorship to apprentices and junior team members.
• Perform and oversee the installation, repair, maintenance, and inspection of commercial flat roofing systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work orders to ensure accurate project execution.
• Coordinate labour, materials, equipment, and deliveries to maintain efficient workflow on site.
• Conduct roof inspections and ensure all installations meet manufacturer specifications to maintain warranty requirements.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards, building codes, and company expectations are met.
• Identify and resolve on-site issues while communicating project progress, challenges, and recommendations to the Operations Lead or Project Manager.
• Complete and submit accurate daily reports, including labour hours, material usage, site inspections, and other required documentation.
• Enforce company health and safety policies and ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and all applicable safety standards.
• Represent the company professionally while maintaining positive working relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and fellow team members.
• Perform all other duties as operational needs dictate.

What you must have:

Salary/Rate Range: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
