Job summary

Atlas-Apex Roofing Inc. is seeking a seasoned supervisor to lead commercial roofing field operations across sites. You will oversee foremen, manage production schedules, and ensure budgets are met while maintaining strict safety standards on every project.

We value teamwork and experience; candidates should have strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and a valid driver's license. You will coordinate with purchasers, fleet managers, and on-site inspectors to deliver quality results.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in industrial/commercial flat roofing, supervision or equivalent.
• Ability to read specs and contract documents.
• Strong oral and written communication.
• Ability to interpret instructions and solve problems.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Supervise roofing foremen and oversee all commercial roofing field operations.
• Monitor progress and ensure labour and materials meet budgets.
• Enforce on-site safety policies and complete safety paperwork (JSAs, inspections).
• Coordinate material, shipments and equipment with Purchaser and Fleet Manager.
• Liaise with architects, engineers and clients; address issues with project management.
• Lead on-site management, staff training, and adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities:

• Supervising roofing foremen and all commercial roofing field operations
• Overseeing in progress production work to ascertain appropriate schedule and to certify that labour and material for individual projects meet allotted budgets
• Monitoring and ensuring that safety rules on site are adhered to in relation to both project specific plans and company safety policies
• Ensuring safety paperwork, including safety talks, JSA's and Inspections on individual sites are carried out
• Working with roofing foreman to address material requirements
• Working in liaison with the Purchaser and Fleet/Equipment Manager to schedule material and equipment shipments, deliveries and loading
• Working directly with on-site inspection, consulting to rectify or enhance required installation details deliberating with project management as necessary
• Communicating with architects, engineers, consultants, building operators, building owners, property managers, as necessary
• Engaging in daily discussions with management and disseminating information
• Providing leadership to employees and ensuring company policies are followed
• Being aware of and being prepared to act upon company disciplinary policy
• Performing roof inspections, take offs, detail drawings and extensions
• Liaising with service department projects as required
• Managing and dealing with job site crisis, emergencies and/or unforeseen issues as necessary
• Liaising, coordinating and communicating with subcontractors (gravel removal, cranes, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical) for work on site
• Recruiting new workers to the company
• Taking part in training of production and service crews
• Ensuring daily crew hours are forwarded to management team and/or input in job cost control program
• Preparing and tracking all paper work (inspection reports, deficiency reports, change orders, etcetera) relative to individual jobs and dispense to management
• Assisting in pre-project hazard assessment, set-up, pre-load, mobilization, production and demobilization
• Ensuring professionalism and cleanliness at all job sites
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the industrial, commercial flat roofing industry, in either supervision or work experience is required
• Ability to read and comprehend job specifications and contract documents. Accuracy and attention to detail is a must
• Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to clients, consultants, and other employees within the company as needed
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form and deal with problems in a creative manner
• Ability to relate well to all kinds of people, can build constructive and effective relationships using diplomacy and tact
• Self-motivated with the ability to work at fast paced professional level
• Valid driver's license with clean abstract
• Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
