Job summary

GIP Atlantic Canada Ltd. is seeking a Project Coordinator to support engineering and project teams, starting with drafting tasks and expanding into project management as you gain experience.

You will produce drawings in AutoCAD, prepare layouts and diagrams, and work with panel technicians, estimators, and PMs to meet project needs.

We offer an hourly wage of $24.00–$28.00 per hour, with a focus on safety, collaboration, and career growth across Atlantic Canada.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a drafting position, preferably in an industrial environment.
  • AutoCAD proficiency (experience in electrical or mechanical drafting is an asset).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate drawings.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow into project management responsibilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate drawings using AutoCAD and design tools.

  • Revise drawings for changes and updates.
  • Maintain organized drawing files per company standards.

What You’ll Do

As a Project Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting our engineering and project teams. Starting with drafting responsibilities, this role is designed to grow into broader project management opportunities as you gain experience.

You will:
  • Produce accurate drawings using AutoCAD and other design tools.
  • Support design and engineering teams by preparing layouts, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with panel technicians, estimators, and project managers to ensure designs meet project requirements.
  • Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate design changes and updates.
  • Maintain organized files and drawing records in accordance with company standards.
  • Participate in project meetings, gaining exposure to project planning and controls.
  • Develop skills to transition into project management, including scheduling, budgeting, and client coordination.
What We’re Looking For

  • A Diploma in Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, or a related field.
  • 1 -3 years of experience in a drafting position, preferably in an industrial environment.
  • AutoCAD proficiency (experience in electrical or mechanical drafting is an asset).

Compensation:

We offer an hourly wage in the range of $24.00 – $28.00 per hour, commensurate with skills and experience.
