Job summary

Primoris Canada is seeking a Project Coordinator to support construction projects in the oil, gas, petrochemical and heavy industry sectors. You will coordinate material, subcontractors, progress, and extra work, ensuring schedules and client requirements are met.

• Engineer in Training (EIT) or Construction Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.).
• 1–3 years of experience in a similar role would be asset.
• Education may be considered in place of experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee material takeoffs and ensure accuracy.
• Review final contract and services to align with estimates.
• Support project kick-off meetings and clarify site safety/permitting procedures.
• Maintain construction schedule and ensure compliance with client specs.
• Issue RFIs and provide procurement/engineering solutions as needed.
• Manage field engineers and interface with project controls and quality teams.

Job Overview:Primoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and include services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.SUMMARYThe Project Coordinator shall be responsible for the coordination and tracking of correspondence, material, equipment, subcontracts, progress, and extra work.Expression of interest for potential work.JOB DUTIESOversee material takeoffsReview the final contract and services agreed upon to ensure expectations of final product and timing are included in the estimateContribute to job kick-off meetings with the subcontractor before they mobilize, to clarify all site-specific safety and permitting proceduresWork with project staff and maintain the construction scheduleEnsure compliance with overall client requirements and specificationsMaintain progress quantity, and reporting systemsIssue Requests for Information (RFI's) as requiredOffer technical solutions for procurement, engineering, and construction issuesManage field engineers to fulfill their roles and responsibilities, reviewing work for completeness and accuracyInterface with project controls and quality to assist in their project functionsVarious other duties as requested by managementQUALIFICATIONSEngineer in Training (E.I.T.) or Construction Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.)1 – 3 years of experience in a similar role would be considered an asset (applicable education may be considered in place of experience)SKILLSAbility to read blueprints/isometric drawings and details to understand scope of workStrong organization skills and detail orientatedSkilled in utilizing MS Office programs, specifically Excel, word, and outlookAble to often work under pressure and stressStrong communication skillsSelf-motivated and assertive
