Job summary

Primoris Canada is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead an allocated industrial construction contract. You will set up the project, coordinate staff, manage estimates and execution plans, and drive client communication to ensure alignment with scope and budget.

You will oversee scheduling, budgets, quality control, audits, and invoicing, review productivity, and coordinate subcontractor activities. Strong leadership, safety, and communication are essential to deliver projects on time and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/construction management or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of industrial construction experience.
  • Experience in civil, structural, mechanical/piping, or electrical scopes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel).
  • Experience with Primavera preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project setup to client requirements.
  • Coordinate staffing and define responsibilities per RASCI.
  • Develop estimates and execution plans within guidelines.
  • Lead project meetings and reporting.
  • Generate and organize project budgets and folders.
  • Ensure quality inspections and documentation per requirements.
  • Schedule audits with Quality Manager.
  • Process subcontract requisitions and change logs.
  • Review productivity reports and address low productivity.
  • Review and approve invoices and intercompany charges.

Job Overview:Primoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and include services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.SUMMARYThe Project Manager is responsible for managing the allocated contract, fostering a positive relationship with the Client through planning, monitoring, controlling, reporting, communicating and leading the project.Expression of interest for potential work.JOB DUTIESProject setup through internal and client requirementsCoordinate the hiring or re-allocation of project staff and advise project staff of their job responsibilities in accordance with Project-developed RASCI MatrixReview and/or contribute to the development of estimates, project execution plans and manage the project execution within the estimate guidelinesFacilitate & lead project meetingsGenerate project budget and setup folders/templatesEnsure accurate and timely project reporting is provided and maintainedOversee quality to ensure all inspections and documentation are accurate and maintained in accordance with Client and Company requirementsSchedule and participate in audits with the Quality ManagerResponsible for preparing a detailed sub-contractor requisition prior to executionReview all productivity/progress reports generated prior to issuance and articulate the impacts causing low productivitiesEnsure RFI’s are detailed and concise, and provide solutions where applicableReview Extra Work Orders log, subcontract change log, and ensure information is adequately detailedDetermine Project Schedule level of detail required and publish a 3 week look ahead in collaboration with site supervision.Maintain Client communication, ensuring impact and progress reporting are provided adequately and timelyReview and approve all invoices before they are issued to the ClientReview, reject, and/or approve all 3rd party project invoices and inter-company invoices prior to being issued for payment.Various other duties as requested by management.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent relevant technical experienceMinimum of ten (10) years of experience in industrial construction, involving civil, structural, mechanical/piping, or electrical scopesAble to define scope of work and project specificationsAbility to quantify activities, materials, and suppliesStrong negotiation skillsSkilled determination of critical construction pathStrong understanding of construction safety, quality control, and project controlsBasic accounting knowledgeExcellent problem-solving skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills.Skilled in MS Office (specifically Excel)Experience with Primavera is preferred
