Job Details

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interpret approved contract terms and conditions and build commercial terms into the system to ensure accurate billing and revenue recognition.
  • Ensure billing activities are completed accurately and timely.
  • Prepare client invoices and backup documentation promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain detailed client billing files, monitor budgets, and communicate change order needs.
  • Collaborate with Program Management and clients on invoices, change orders, and approvals.
  • Manage work in progress and address discrepancies within the billing system.
  • Understand and communicate with Business partners regarding accruals and journal entries.
  • Regularly monitor program billing rates as required.
  • Validate contract pricing in the billing system and update fee structures as appropriate.
  • Maintain records of routine accounting transactions, ensuring proper documentation, compliance, and controls.
  • Ensure revenue is accurately recognized and booked in Sage, adhering to revenue recognition policies and US GAAP.
  • Address aged outstanding invoices in collaboration with Program Management and clients.
  • Proactively manage relationships with Business Unit teams and communicate issues to Finance Management.
  • Support finance process improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain client project codes related to Business Units.
  • Prepare ad hoc requests, including audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Prior billing and industry experience is advantageous.
  • Understanding of Patient Support Programs is preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with SAGE is an asset.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
