Our client is searching for a Project Accountant to join their team. This role will be responsible for providing analysis and reporting of the company’s properties, leading to the improvement of internal cost controls and efficiency, and driving fact-based decision-making. A successful candidate provides financial analysis to a collaborative team focused on constant improvement to provide the best service to the tenants and internal clients.

Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To

• Work closely with the Junior Controller to maintain detailed day-to-day project accounting, development accounting, and some corporate accounting requirements.
• Assist in maintaining the budget to actual reporting and tracking.
• Involve heavily in project budgets, quarterly forecasting, quarterly reporting, and support in project planning with stakeholders.
• Maintain project tracking for purchases and change orders.
• Handle accounting tracking for development projects, new builds, tenant improvements, and landlords' work in new and existing buildings.
• Prepare monthly project accruals as required.
• Prepare and distribute monthly and quarterly stakeholder reports.
• Collaborate with the Construction Manager on monthly Work in Progress reports.
• Draft financial requests related to projects to facilitate draws from construction lenders.
• Assist with process improvements and implementation.
• Guide property administrators on project-related chargebacks to tenants.
• Perform other ad hoc tasks as assigned by senior management.

Your Strengths Include:

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years of Project Accounting experience preferred.
• 2+ years in construction or commercial real estate preferred.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships across groups.
• Objectivity and factual perspective in inquiries.
• Sense of urgency, multitasking skills, and ability to handle pressure.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
